Chosen for their flexibility, reliability and low cost, Unitrends DPUs and DPVs enable Immedion to reliably and efficiently protect volumes of client data, regardless of the operating platform being used.

Immedion is South Carolina’s only dedicated data center and managed services provider. Their objective is to keep customer business-critical data and applications available 100% of the time 24x7x365. To accomplish this, they have created a world-class data center facility and coupled it with a strategic array of managed services developed to deliver the highest degree of reliability at a very competitive price. Since 2007, Immedion has been delivering fully redundant power, Internet bandwidth, cooling and humidity control to South Carolina’s business’ IT infrastructure. Customers leverage the Immedion enterprise-level data center to minimize critical computer system downtime caused by commercial power outages, Internet problems, or other system failures.

Immedion has a wide range of diverse customers and each customer has different requirements in terms of operating systems, hardware and connectivity that need to be supported. As such, Immedion required a data protection solution that would offer broad support for the range of operating systems and applications used by its clients.

Unitrends solutions are ideal for Immedion in terms of flexibility, reliability and cost,” said Rob Moser, co-founder and chief operating officer, Immedion. “Unitrends has been able to support every type of operating system and application our customers have through a single management console. With Unitrends, we have the flexibility to support all of our customers’ individual data protection needs from one central interface.”

Key features of the Unitrends solution
that are important to Immedion include:

  • The Unitrends Rapid Recovery Console which simplifies administration by providing a ‘single pane of glass’ for data protection management, showing each client’s DPU in a single interface
  • Remote access so that on-demand backups and restores can be performed from anywhere via a web-based interface
  • Disk-based archiving which provides extremely high cartridge density and recovery speeds simply not possible with tape-based backup solutions
  • Advanced BareMetal recovery which delivers sector/track-level data protection

We are pleased to support the growing needs of our customers with disk-to-disk data protection products that offer increased flexibility, scalability and performance,” said Mark Campbell, chief operating officer, Unitrends. “We are even more proud to offer these solutions at a significant cost savings and back them with superior, world-class support services. Our mission is to offer unparalleled data protection solutions and services, and as such our support team is there for our customers 100% of the way with the same ease of use and reliability as our products.”

Unitrends has been a very responsive, open and supportive partner,” said Moser. “As a small company everything we do is focused on supporting our customers’ requirements. Unitrends gives us superior flexibility, both inside the datacenter and at our customers’ sites. They have really simplified the delivery and the implementation of their products and their value is second to none.”
