10Gb Ai-Pro 5110 From Axstor
"The world's fastest iSCSI storage array", said the company.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 2, 2009 at 3:05 pmAxstor announces the new 10Gb, Ai-Pro 5110 which allows vertical markets to benefit from the benchmark performance of the world’s fastest iSCSI storage array.
The Ai-Pro 5110 iSCSI storage array takes high-bandwidth storage beyond conventional enterprise applications and into CCTV, digital imaging, pre- and post-video processing, geophysical data collection and supercomputing.
With performance of over 80,000 IOPs and a data transfer rate of more than 1,160MB/s, the Ai-Pro 5110 is significantly faster than any Fibre Channel alternative. A power footprint of just 65w per controller provides a reduction of around 150 to 200w compared to competitor systems.
The benchmark performance, achieved by the Ai-Pro 5110 meets the demands of high bandwidth clients in HPC applications and scales to greater number of streams in applications such as video processing and CCTV. The Axstor systems can be used both in new systems within the target applications, and to increase the performance of installed systems by replacing existing storage solutions. In a CCTV application, for example, the Axstor Ai-Pro 5110 can support up to 2.5 times more cameras than competitive solutions..
The Axstor Ai-Pro 5110 can be configured with either high-performance 15k SAS, high-capacity 7,200rpm SAS or SATA drives, allowing users to select the best disk technology for their requirements. Supplied in a 2U, 12 bay chassis, the Ai Pro 5110 supports up to 84TB per controller, whilst the Ai-Pro 5210 dual-controller version adds a second 10Gb interface for redundancy.
“Vertical applications provide some of the most exciting storage challenges. The introduction of this new benchmark for high-speed iSCSI storage in non-enterprise applications will support new and aggressive customer targets for performance, capacity or cost reduction, whilst also contributing to carbon dioxide reduction programmes,” commented Alan Shepherd, Axstor’s CEO.
