Cactus Launches USB Flash Drives and Disk-On-Module

In industrial and OEM standard grades

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Cactus Technologies, Ltd. announced the launch of both an Industrial Grade and OEM Standard Grade Series of USB Flash Drives and Disk-On-Modules. Both Series have firm BOM control and Long Life Cycles with the Industrial Grade offering high endurance and high reliability cycles and the OEM Standard Grade products for cost conscious applications that are not as demanding on the flash.

This is another milestone as we continue to fill out our Industrial and OEM Standard Grade offerings.

The Cactus Technologies USB Flash Drives
and Disk-On-Modules offer the following features:

  • Industry Standard USBA interface Flash Drive and 10-pin USB Disk-On-Module
  • Bill-Of-Material Control
  • Long Life Cycles
  • Endurance Cycles per Block: Industrial Grade 2M; OEM Standard Grade 100K
  • Altitude spec of 100,000 feet
  • Powerful ECC and Defect Management
  • Mean Time Between Failure: Industrial 4M Hours; OEM Standard Grade 200K Hours
  • Industrial Grade based on SLC (Single level Cell) NAND Memory
  • OEM Standard Grade based on MLC (Multi Level Cell) NAND Memory

Joseph Chang, Vice President of Engineering, added: “The firm BOM (Bill-Of-Material) Control of Cactus Technologies guarantees our customers receive products made with the same firmware, controller and memory they qualify. This is a high level of control is almost nonexistent in today’s USB product market.”

MLC NAND based products, including Cactus OEM Standard Grade products, are not recommended for applications running the Operating System from the Flash Storage Device (use Industrial Grade).
