StorFirst Altus Available Through EMC Select Program

Seven10 Storage Software, Inc., in virtualization and data protection of regulated enterprise archives, announced its StorFirst Altus software is now available through the EMC Select Program, a program which helps customers easily acquire components that comprise an information infrastructure.

Through the EMC Select Program, customers that require a tape-based recovery solution for EMC Centera can now purchase StorFirst Altus software directly from EMC.

Seven10’s Windows-based application complements EMC Centera by copying archives in native CAS (content addressable storage) format to a VTL or tape library for restore purposes. StorFirst Altus works with single, multiple, or replicated Centera systems to offer the highest level of protection while leveraging inexpensive media pools which can be stored or vaulted off-site.

Easy to install and operate, StorFirst Altus is an all-encompassing, stand-alone product that runs independently from third-party applications and does not require any NDMP middleware. With direct and native support for a wide range of tape drives, tape libraries, shared-library protocols, and VTLs, StorFirst Altus is the most economical product for customers whose business requirements dictate that they retain a copy of Centera data on removable media.
