UK Intellectual Property Rights Rouse With Double-Take

To protect critical workloads worldwide

Double-Take Software, Inc. announced that Rouse,
an IP consultancy and law firm, is using Double-Take to safeguard two
of its most critical business applications against the risk of
downtime. The company uses Double-Take to help protect its global email
and practice management systems against losses of service and client
data.

Double-Take Software provides replication for Rouse’s Microsoft
Exchange and Elite Enterprise applications from the company’s
production data centre to its co-location site. The applications are
hosted within the company’s UK head office, and accessed from 20
offices in 11 countries throughout the world

Jonathan Bruce, global head of IT at Rouse, commented: “These
two applications are fundamental to our employees across the
organisation: if they were not available for any reason, it would have
a severe impact on productivity at each office world-wide. Email is
essential for client contact, while our Elite Enterprise system is
responsible for recording and billing for the work that we do so
availability of these applications is critical. Any degree of downtime
could potentially affect our brand reputation, as well as our ability
to provide clients with the level of service that they expect.
Double-Take provides us with the necessary degree of protection against
this risk. Even in the event of a full office failure, we can have the
email and practice management services back up and running within our
recovery time objective of four hours.

Double-Take is used by a large number of law firms in the UK to provide
high availability, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Companies that have implemented Double-Take to protect their critical
applications include Bird & Bird, Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP and DLA Piper.

More and more organisations are having to consider the impact that downtime can have on their business,” said Ian Masters, UK sales and marketing director at Double-Take Software. “The
legal sector continues to invest in business continuity and back-up
solutions as a way to ensure their level of service, maintain hourly
billing records and keep one step ahead of their competition. We have a
long history in helping companies in this market to protect their
systems and data
.”

Double-Take Software’s workload optimisation solutions are the most
commonly deployed within the legal industry world-wide to meet their
business continuity and data replication requirements, according to the
most recent survey by the International Legal Technology Association in August 2009.
