Kodak Becoming ASP of Alliance Storage Technologies in North America

For Plasmon UDO appliances and libraries

Alliance Storage Technologies, Inc. (ASTI), owner and exclusive manufacturer of Plasmon brand technologies, announced an agreement for KODAK to become a preferred Authorized Service Provider (ASP) for Plasmon UDO-based Archive Appliance and G-Series optical storage libraries in North America.

Plasmon users will have easy, reliable and cost-effective access to expert service and support through KODAK’s Service and Support organization.

KODAK has extensive Plasmon related service and support expertise, having maintained thousands of Plasmon storage systems since 2001. With ASTI trained and certified technicians, experienced in Plasmon equipment, KODAK is uniquely positioned to meet customers’ maintenance and support needs.

As an Authorized Service Provider, Kodak will have the full support of ASTI to ensure its customers receive the highest quality of service possible. 

As an ASP, KODAK will have full access to:

  • All firmware and Archive Appliance software releases, updates and patch releases.
  • Proprietary support and service utilities used in analyzing Plasmon equipment.
  • Comprehensive support and service training on existing and new ASTI products ensuring Kodak’s continued extensive expertise.
  • Direct access to ASTI third and forth level engineering resources and expertise for full support in problem analysis, problem resolution and emergency firmware/ software updates.
  • Product documentation updates and knowledge base.
  • Factory manufactured and certified parts.

Kodak’s customers will be supported directly by KODAK’s Technical Support and onsite service teams, who in turn will be fully supported by ASTI’s technical support, engineering and software development organizations.     

Archival storage solutions are required by both public and private organizations to comply with regulations and to safely and securely retain their information,” said Karen Sherrill, Worldwide Service Director, Document Imaging, KODAK. “Ongoing maintenance of storage products ensures that data is continually archived and accessible. KODAK Service and Support is collaborating with ASTI to offer customers unmatched service and support, providing one-point access to ASTI’s technical expertise and KODAK’s award-winning onsite service teams.”

Last April, this agreement between the two companies was already announced.

Formerly, Kodak acquired Plasmon support in the UK and Germany.
