Transaction Line to Offer Scale Computing Storage Solutions
In Latin America
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 22, 2009 at 3:25 pmScale Computing and Transaction Line, Inc., integrator in the delivery of virtualized products and services, announces Scale has chosen Transaction Line, as the first reseller and distributor of Scale’s commodity-based clustered storage solutions for the Latin American market. Beginning immediately, Transaction Line will resell, integrate and support storage solutions using Scale’s Intelligent Clustered Storage (ICS) architecture.
Scale’s storage portfolio is based on the company’s Intelligent Clustered Storage (ICS) technology, which enables users to add storage hardware, known as storage nodes, as necessary without suspending services or migrating data. Additional nodes immediately integrate into the cluster of storage nodes, which acts as a single file system scalable to more than 2.2 petabytes (PB). By combining commodity hardware with a clustered file system commonly found only in the world’s largest supercomputers, a Scale storage cluster grows seamlessly while significantly reducing costs compared to traditional enterprise storage solutions.
"We are focused on helping our customers leverage emerging technologies to provide cost-effective, high-performance, enterprise-class products and services," said Carlos Pino, President of Transaction Line, Inc. "We are excited to work closely with Scale Computing, as it offers the same scalability as higher priced solutions, at a fraction of the cost, and be the first to offer these solutions in the Latin American market."
"Transaction Line’s approach to IT is very compatible with Scale’s vision and market goals," said Scott DeWall, Director of North America Channel Development, Scale Computing. "Their unique knowledge of the Latin American IT market and vast consulting experience with organizations of all sizes makes Transaction Line a great partner to educate and deliver commodity-based clustered storage solutions in the region."
Scale’s ICS architecture uses iSCSI, CIFS and NFS protocols to create a scalable SAN / NAS solution with enterprise-class features and no single point of failure. Even if an entire storage node is lost for any reason, a user’s entire data store remains fully accessible with no interruption in service. In addition, because of ICS’ flexible architecture, there is the ability to mix nodes of differing useable capacities (1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB) in the same cluster with access to 100 percent of each node`s capacity.
Scale Computing`s SN1000, SN2000 and SN4000 appliances are available immediately from Transaction Line through its extensive channel network of distribution.
