Mimosa and Informative Graphics Together
To deliver a solution for the secure retention, search, recovery and redaction of responsive content
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 21, 2009 at 3:41 pmMimosa Systems, Inc. and Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology, announced a strategic partnership to deliver a combined solution for the secure retention, search, recovery and redaction of responsive content – such as emails, files, SharePoint data, and instant messages to expedite eDiscovery and protect data privacy.
The combined use of Mimosa NearPoint and IGC’s Redact-It Enterprise Server assures that companies remain in compliance with privacy regulations while delivering information transparency and streamlining electronic discovery processes for litigation readiness.
“The efficient management of the eDiscovery process requires a number of functions, from secure archiving, search and classification to the redaction of sensitive content and privacy information,” said Gary Heath, president and CEO of IGC. “Through the combination of Mimosa NearPoint and Redact-It, companies can assure better, faster litigation readiness by embedding privacy compliance and protection of privileged information embedded into the process. The two products are an ideal combination for any company building a comprehensive eDiscovery and data protection strategy.”
Mimosa NearPoint offers a full feature set designed to automate information management for the active identification, collection and preservation of user-generated content. Through the capture of all content and metadata from email, attachments, folders, deletions, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks, files on laptops and files ervers, and SharePoint objects NearPoint can quickly identify relevant content as part of an eDiscovery, or disclosure request. Once initial information has been identified, NearPoint delivers key features including individual item-level legal holds, conversation and proximity analysis, and an intuitive search within a search while demonstrating chain of custody as archived content moves through the workflow.
Once responsive information has been identified using NearPoint, Redact-It Enterprise Server can be used to intelligently review the content and remove sensitive content and privacy information from documents. Using patent-pending technology, Redact-It redacts individual documents on-demand, in an automated workflow process or as a batch process for the redaction of an entire folder. Using this comprehensive redaction tool, eDiscovery teams can automatically redact all instances of a phrase, names, social security numbers, phone numbers, account numbers, monetary amounts and more. Redacted content is actually removed in the output file, not just covered, as is hidden document data or metadata. Redact-It creates a PDF, TIFF or CSF rendition of the redacted file, leaving the source file untouched.
“eDiscovery can be a time-consuming and tedious task if the proper, enabling solutions are not in place,” said Scott Whitney, vice president of product management, Mimosa Systems. “Mimosa and IGC have partnered to help companies expedite eDiscovery requests through the combined functionality of NearPoint and Redact-It Enterprise Server. By leveraging our joint solution, companies can assure that their requested information is consistent and defensible and they can save time and money by eliminating the need for cumbersome manual classification and redaction practices.”
