Hitachi GST has for the first time in the industry commissioned a Thai university to upgrade one of its production lines to the latest technology as part of a public private research partnership rather than have equipment sent over to Singapore for retrofitting and sent back. Engineered in Thailand-research students with the machinery they retro-fitted that will soon make 600 Hitachi 2.5" HDDs.
