Environmental Analytics Module for Storage Fusion’ Storage Resource Analysis Service

Storage Fusion Ltd., in SRA services (Storage Resource Analysis), unveiled an environmental analytics module for its SRA platform.

The new environmental module is part of Storage Fusion’s successful SRA service offering which includes a detailed power consumption assessment for heterogeneous magnetic disk storage systems within a single data centre or across multiple sites.
 
Storage infrastructure is fundamental to business operations, and is one of the largest IT investments that any company can make. However, all too often this strategic resource is poorly understood and inefficiently managed. Using a powerful and non-disruptive SaaS (Software as a Service) architecture, Storage Fusion’s SRA service provides very rapid storage analytics covering a comprehensive range of system usage and operational metrics. Storage Fusion’s SRA service has helped organisations to recapture petabytes of poorly deployed resource and make informed decisions that reduce operating costs and improve system performance through storage optimisation.
 
The development of the new environmental module was driven by a strong demand from Storage Fusion’s customers and OEM partners. It extends the SRA service to include detailed statistics on power consumption for the operation and cooling of storage systems. Watts per gigabytes of storage capacity can be viewed for individual drives, integrated systems or complete sites. Providing both absolute and relative statistics gives data centre decision makers the information they need to accurately measure the power efficiency of their total storage environment. As an important new module within the SRA platform, Storage Fusion is already planning additional enhancements for its environmental analytics, which will be available to all SRA customers in the future.
