Zycko and Infortrend Join Forces in Europe
To grow channel partner
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 11, 2009 at 3:49 pmZycko Ltd., the value added distributor of convergent storage and IP solutions, has joined forces with Infortrend Technology, Inc., in networked storage solutions, to grow its European market share and boost its focus on scale-out architecture.
Director of Sales and Marketing (Northern Europe) for Infortrend, Jon Ashley said: "As a leading name in the storage sector, Zycko has exactly the right mix of expertise, contacts and experience to help us grow our channel partner base in Europe. Through Zycko, we will be targeting a tier of successful and experienced integrators, many of whom rely on and trust the value-add Zycko already delivers. We are looking forward to working with Zycko to bring our quality technology to new customers.”
Infortrend unveiled its new SAN storage system – Enterprise Scalable Virtualised Architecture (ESVA) – at Heathrow T5 in June this year. The vendor’s new offering incorporates storage virtualisation, thin provisioning, distributed load balancing, array-based snapshots and replication. The range is designed to enable businesses to add more storage applications by scaling out their storage, instead of replacing systems, which can work out to be costly for the customer and not always the best option.
Zycko’s Group Sales Director, David Galton-Fenzi commented: "Infortrend complements our existing storage offering, adding a cost effective, functionality rich and reliable solution into our portfolio. Part of Zycko’s value will be to supply and bundle Infortrend’s product suite and target specific vertical markets that are experiencing the greatest financial pressures. Although the concept is not new, the architecture that Infortrend has chosen for the ESVA suits the requirements of enterprises today. Businesses need an easy way of continuously scaling out their data.”
Jon Ashley continued: “Our mission is to provide the solutions and technologies that can help businesses to design, build, manage and secure the information efficiently and effectively in order to automate and simplify information and infrastructure management. Infortrend is committed to growing its channel of integrators and our partnership with Zycko is the next stage in the evolution of this plan. Zycko has a strong reputation within the channel and is recognised by its resellers for the value it adds. Together with Zycko, Infortrend will ensure our partners receive the technical and commercial support they require.”
