Digi-Data Launches Store and Forward Engine
An Internet storage combining online and local backup
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 10, 2009 at 3:51 pmDigi-Data Corporation announced the launch of its Store and Forward Engine (SAFE) – a new class of Internet storage that combines the best of online and local backup technologies.
Since 2005, Digi-Data has provided Internet backup and file sharing products through large telecommunications companies. Based on partner relationships, Digi-Data developed SAFE to satisfy the online backup requirements of its small-medium business customers.
The SAFE-gateway is a data storage device connected to the customer’s network that synchronizes data files to a secure online vault (SAFE-remote). The blend of local and remote storage simplifies backups, improves recovery reliability and gives customers more control over their data. If a disaster strikes, the SAFE-gateway is quickly rebuilt and shipped to the designated location while stored files remain accessible using the Internet.
Offering more than just backup, SAFE can be used for storing project files, keeping private personnel or financial records, and archiving old information. A secure portal enables access from remote locations via the web.
"We believe that data protection for small businesses is best left to experts," said Mitch Schwartz, vice president of sales. "With a tight network of IT professionals, multiple copies of data, and a continuous monitoring system, we can provide better data protection for small businesses than many Fortune 500 companies."
