Sandberg eSATA PC Card Express

The market is increasingly being flooded with super-fast external hard disks. However, many laptop owners can’t use this high-speed since their computers are not equipped with an eSATA port. An eSATA port is a connection in your computer that gives extremely fast access to data exchange between the computer and the hard disk. Danish company Sandberg A/S is launching the Sandberg eSATA PC Card Express, a product which will solve this problem.

Requirements for both speed and memory are constantly increasing. And it’s therefore really clever to just connect an external hard disk to your computer and gain extra storage capacity. But many people feel cheated when they discover that you can only achieve this high-speed if you have an eSATA port, which is not standard on most computers. On a standard desktop computer this can be solved with an insert card. But insert cards cannot normally be used with a laptop computer.

Sandberg’s new product uses the high-speed connection in the PC Card Express port which is found in most recent laptop models. Sandberg products convert the port to an eSATA port to which the external hard drive can be connected, to bring you full-speed.
