Raid, Inc. Launches Fusion Series 4-in-1 Nehalem Chassis
A disk array with four nodes in 2U space
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 7, 2009 at 3:22 pmRAID Incorporated announced its newest addition to the computing space, the Fusion 4-in-1 solution. With four nodes in a 2U space, the new 2U 4-in-1 chassis delivers world-class energy efficiency and performance in a small but powerful package.
4-in-1 system nodes can be purchased one at a time and expanded modularly. Built with independent full-function system control and management, each node is contained in a convenient module design for easy system upgrade, installation and maintenance. Optimized redundant power and cooling make the 4-in-1 the best choice for HPC, datacenter and cost-effective blade applications. Together with the 1U systems, RAID Inc. offers the most advanced and complete HPC solutions in the world.
The Fusion 4-in-1 solution was engineered with a green design in mind, significantly reducing power consumption and overall TCO. Four nodes share one redundant power supply and four cooling fans, and the 80PLUS Gold Efficiency Power Supplies run at 50% utilization. All nodes are available with an option for 375 GFLOPS/kW low-voltage Intel Xeon L5520 60W CPUs.
"RAID Inc. is pleased to have the opportunity to bring the unique Fusion 4-in-1 server solution to market," stated Robert Picardi, Chief Operating Officer at RAID. "The ability to mix and match processing power, memory, expansion cards, and drives within any of the four nodes provides unprecedented computing flexibility within a 2U form factor."
