Seanodes Demos Exanodes Storage Virtual Appliance at VMworld
Running on NCS blade system with SSD and HDD
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 19, 2009 at 3:42 pmSeanodes will be exhibiting at VMworld 2009 where it will demonstrate its Exanodes software as part of a nine-blade system featuring HDD and SSD jointly with NCS Technologies, Inc. at the Moscone Center in San Francisco August 31-September 3.
Exanodes’ Shared Internal Storage design maximizes the investment in SSD by aggregating the performance and capacity of all available disks embedded in ESX application servers and presenting them as a shared storage pool accessible by any server in the infrastructure. Combining SSD and Exanodes in a single solution delivers high levels of I/O power and performance, meeting the needs of functions such as a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), web-based applications or cloud computing. The Seanodes demonstration will showcase how users can benefit from VMware’s advanced features without the need to invest in complex and expensive traditional networked storage.
"Using Exanodes in conjunction with solid state disk, users can now realize performance benefits for applications and in environments that were once deemed inefficient or unaffordable," said Frank Gana, Business Development Director at Seanodes. "We are going to show the crowd at VMworld how this innovative pairing can vastly improve performance while lowering overall storage costs without suffering the adversities of inadequate capacity and complexity that currently prevent many from taking full advantage of SSD technology."
"Combining the latest Intel Xeon 55XX Series Nehalem blades, SSD and HDD in a single solution powered by Exanodes delivers a turnkey virtualization solution that removes the barriers to adoption for users waiting to move to virtualization," said Bill Bedford at NCS Technologies. "This demo will show how we can provide several tiers of storage in the compact form factor of blades, and deliver high density and CPU power, in a ‘datacenter-in-a-box’ suitable even for SMBs."
Attendees will be able to see the technology in action, experiencing firsthand Exanodes’ superior performance and innovative concept. The company will be giving away an iPod Touch each day to attendees who register for a free drawing at Seanodes’ booth.
