The progression in technology will expand the already successful Fibre Channel series of the ZeusIOPS within the enterprise storage markets. This 3rd generation FC SSD elevates the performance bar to 80,000 IOPS Random Read, 40,000 IOPS Random Write with transfer speeds of 380MB/s read and 300MB/s write. Available in a 3.5" form factor and supporting SLC and MLC Flash, these products are expected to be in full production by end of Q4.
Fulfilling the demand for high-performance and high-reliability SSDs, STEC’s new 4Gb FC ZeusIOPS advances its performance metrics by increasing Read/Write performance by 3x and lowering maximum read latencies by 10x over its 2nd generation ZeusIOPS. Additionally, with the usage of MLC flash, the new SSDs will cost less than the 2nd generation products using SLC components on a per Gigabyte bases.
"Following the footsteps of our widely adopted 2nd generation 4Gb FC ZeusIOPS, the 3rd generation FC enables better performance, lower pricing and further expansion of FC-based SSDs in the enterprise storage markets," said Manouch Moshayedi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of STEC. "Working with our existing customers who have adopted our 2nd generation of FC ZeusIOPS, and understanding of their requirements for best in class price/performance, we are proud to be able to achieve and offer the advancements made on our 3rd generation FC Zeus IOPS."
