Kevin DeNuccio and Dr. Chenming Calvin Hu Board’s Directors of SanDisk

They are at Redback Networks and at the University of California, Berkeley, respectively.

SanDisk Corporation has appointed two distinguished industry and technology leaders to its board of directors, with immediate effect. The new board appointees are Kevin DeNuccio, currently vice chairman of Redback Networks a subsidiary of L.M. Ericsson, and Dr. Chenming Calvin Hu, currently the TSMC Distinguished Chair Professor of Microelectronics in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley.

Kevin and Chenming will contribute significant business and technical excellence to our board of directors,” said Dr. Eli Harari, chairman and CEO, SanDisk. “These are exciting times, and we look forward to their participation and guidance as SanDisk pursues significant opportunities in our target markets.”

Mr. DeNuccio currently serves as Vice Chairman of Redback Networks a subsidiary of L.M. Ericsson and as a board member with JDS Uniphase Corporation, Data Connections Ltd, and Catholic Charities. Previously, he served as CEO of Redback for seven years and before that, was senior vice president of worldwide service provider operations at Cisco Systems. Prior to Cisco, DeNuccio held several executive management roles with Verizon Communications, Unisys Corporation, and Wang Laboratories. He holds finance and MBA degrees from Northeastern University and Columbia University, respectively.

Dr. Chenming Calvin Hu is the TSMC Distinguished Chair Professor of Microelectronics in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. He has served as the chief technology officer of TSMC, the world’s largest dedicated integrated circuits foundry. In addition, Dr. Hu was the founding chairman of Celestry Design Technologies, acquired by Cadence Design Systems, and was the board chairman of the non-profit East Bay Chinese School, Oakland, CA. He holds three degrees in electrical engineering: a B.S. from the National Taiwan University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from UC, Berkeley.
