By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 14, 2009 at 4:27 pmOn September 14, Pliant Technology is supposed to unveil the highest performing Flash-based enterprise storage devices – Enterprise Flash Drives (EFDs).
Pliant’s EFDs will provide record performance, reliability and energy efficiency for financial service data centers and other high-performance computing environments. By combining Pliant’s EFDs with high capacity HDDs, racks of power-hungry, high-RPM disk drives can be reduced to shelves, saving power consumption (up to 80% or more), space and money (up to 50% reduction in TCO) compared to an HDD-only environment. And Pliant’s EFDs deliver dramatically higher I/O performance and superior reliability than existing SSDs.
