Brazil’s TV Record Deploys Front Porch Digital’s Divarchive

Front Porch Digital announced that Brazil’s TV Record has deployed the company’s DIVArchive to support tapeless ingest, production, playout, and archiving at its new 24-hour news channel. In addition, TV Record’s main entertainment-based operation has selected DIVArchive as part of a planned upgrade to streamline workflow at its São Paulo facility. For both solutions, TV Record has worked with Brazilian systems integrator LineUp Engenharia Electronica Co., Ltd., of Sao Pãulo.   

In developing the news operation, TV Record and LineUp Engenharia Electronica implemented a seamless workflow whereby DIVArchive runs in conjunction with a Thomson Grass Valley Aurora news production suite to enable migration of content between Thomson Grass Valley K2 media servers and an IBM robotic tape library, all under the control of the Aurora suite. The solution handles about 20,000 hours of media assets, approximately 280 TB of storage capacity.

TV Record is Brazil’s oldest television broadcaster and one of the largest in terms of viewership. The entertainment channel has aggressively sought market share as a result of a programming schedule based increasingly on prime time telenovelas produced at the company’s studios in Rio de Janeiro.
