An Optical Disc Destruction Device From Verity Systems

Verity Systems, degausser manufacturer and media disposal specialist, have announced the addition of the DX-CD2, an optical disc destruction device, to their product portfolio.

The DX-CD2 deploys a patented technology that grinds the data layer off of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs to 250 micron particles. All data are eliminated completely and permanently and there is no possibility of forensic recovery. Designed with the high-security sector in mind, the DX-CD2 has been evaluated by the NSA and meets the requirements of NSA/CSS Specification 04-02 for optical media destruction. The DX-CD2 offers users a fully auditable, disposal and destruction solution in line with most organisations data security policies.

The DX-CD2 is safe, clean and inexpensive to operate. For less than £0.01 / €0.01 a disc, users can be assured that their digital information has been permanently and safely destroyed. Its lightweight design ensures that it is quiet enough for an office environment and the vacuum collection bag ensures that the unit is clean and environmentally safe as dust is collected for later disposal. Between 90 and 340 discs can be destroyed in just one hour.
