This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 26, 2009 at 3:57 pmIBM System Storage Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) V10.1 further enhances the management capabilities with:
- Support for virtual fabrics
- New performance management capabilities
- Port fencing
- FICON
Fabric operating system (FOS) V6.2 introduces logical switches and virtual fabrics for selected SAN b-type models. DCFM V10.1 adds support for comprehensive configuration and management of this feature.
New performance management capabilities include additional Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) Statistics, performance graph enhancements, and support for Top Talker function.
Port fencing allows users to set policies that will block switch ports if certain conditions are met. DCFM supported port fencing for m-type SAN products in the previous release. With V10.1, DCFM extends this feature to the b-type models.
FICON enhancements implemented in DCFM V10.1 provide port groups in Port Dynamic Connectivity Manager (PDCM), cascaded FICON merge wizard to resolve merge conflicts, control processor (CP) fault state alert to show CP per slot details, and RNID info for m-type switches.
Secure copy (SCP) server support offers an additional option to FTP. DCFM now supports the SCP option for secure file transfer of firmware images and Supportsave diagnostic files.
Trace route support is extended to collect round trip information across Fibre Channel Router (FCR) links.
