New Mellanox 648-Port 40Gb IB Switch Available …

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced the immediate availability of its IS5000 40Gb/s InfiniBand switch system family and FabricIT management suite.

These new products enable compute clusters and data centers to efficiently scale using switch building blocks from 36 to 648 ports in a single enclosure. Leveraging Mellanox’s 4th generation of InfiniBand silicon and industry’s lowest latency, the switch family and full line of host channel adapters provide customers with the optimal combination of proven performance and efficiency enhancement.

Mellanox IS5000 systems provide 2.9 to 51.8 Tb/s of non-blocking bandwidth across 648 ports and can be used to build networks consisting of tens of thousands of servers and storage nodes. FabricIT fabric management reduces management overhead by providing the essential capabilities for managing systems at scale with simplicity and flexibility. IT managers can optimize data center performance and efficiency with FabricIT’s performance monitoring, granular Quality of Service, and dynamic adaptation of the network to meet application demands in real-time.
