Solid State Solutions Becomes Compellent Distributor
In the UK
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 19, 2009 at 3:28 pmCompellent Technologies, Inc. has further increased its UK channel presence with the appointment of Solid State Solutions Limited (S3), one of the country’ storage and information management providers.
S3 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK
Under the terms of the agreement, S3 will resell the Compellent Storage Center, Compellent’s feature-rich and easy-to-use Storage Area Network (SAN), as part of S3’s storage and networking solutions portfolio. As a result, S3 will be able to meet the needs of clients looking to increase the resiliency of their backup, recovery and business continuity infrastructure through the use of automated tiered storage, thin provisioning, simplified data replication and advanced virtualisation technologies.
S3 will benefit from Compellent’s unique all-channel ‘assisted sales’ model, which gives a major advantage over the competition when it comes to selling to, and servicing, its clients. Unlike other storage vendors, who use resellers for distribution but ultimately compete with them via direct sales, Compellent has no direct sales force and focuses all of its resources on helping partners sell and close deals. S3 will also gain access to Compellent’s secure online partner portal, which features fast lead registration, rapid quote generation and a host of other online resources.
Andy Hardy, managing director of international sales at Compellent comments: “S3 works with a high profile list of clients including Lloyds TSB, Fitzpatrick, Infoterra and the British Library. With its reach and size as well as knowledge of key vertical markets, S3 is an ideal partner and we look forward to a close working relationship that will help businesses meet the challenges associated with managing the unabated growth of stored data in a cost-effective and efficient manner.”
Gurdip Kalley, vendor relationship manager at S3, said: “We are extremely impressed by Compellent’s innovative approach to data management and business continuity. This, combined with its 100 percent channel model, gives us a tangible advantage when bidding on new business opportunities. Furthermore, Compellent is a great technology fit as it allows our clients to get the best returns on their storage investments, while also keeping operating and capital expenditure to a minimum – both of which are obviously key issues for those making storage purchasing decisions in the current economic climate.”
