Common Solution Integrated by CommVault and McAfee

Data protection and security from single console

McAfee, Inc. and CommVault  announced the availability of integrated data and security management features utilizing the two companies’ respective data management, backup and security solutions.

McAfee and CommVault align to offer customers for the first time, their integrated enterprise solutions that manage security beyond the endpoint to include data and network protection. These integrated features are also designed to help reduce costs and improve threat protection and compliance management.

With the availability of the compatible McAfee-CommVault solutions, end users can now more easily manage security risk and data backup, recovery, and archive from a single console to provide customers faster and more concise decision making about data integrity, security, and protection status.

The integration between the award-winning CommVault Simpana enterprise data management software suite and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePOTM) centralized management platform provides customers with actionable information regarding the status of protected data managed by CommVault Simpana software. Using a built-in connector from CommVault, event information related to backup status can be shared within a custom McAfee ePO dashboard to synthesize reporting efficiencies and provide ease of use for administrators to monitor multiple systems at the same time.

Additionally, under a new worldwide sales teaming agreement, both companies will align their respective sales teams to capitalize on the market opportunity where data management, data protection and security purchasing decisions converge. The agreement is designed to help synergize efforts in existing and new customer opportunities where there is demand for integrated, best of breed, data protection and security solutions.

This announcement reinforces the ongoing commitment of both companies to provide customers with solutions that address both security risk and data protection. The integrated solution will not only help to reduce the complexity in customers’ IT environments but also serve to improve protection and lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
