Isilon NAS Platform Certified With CommVault Simpana…

Isilon Systems announced that its Isilon IQ product platform and new Back-up Accelerator have completed certification with CommVault, providing enterprise businesses full interoperability with CommVault Simpana data protection software. By leveraging Isilon IQ in combination with CommVault Simpana software, which features end-to-end data deduplication, enterprises can increase data protection levels and archiving capabilities in their IT environments, maximizing the value of file-based data while minimizing the risk of business-critical data loss. Additionally, with the Isilon Back-up Accelerator, customers can speed system performance to shorten back-up windows, while simplifying the management of file-based data back-up.

Isilon’s certification with CommVault was validated by a series of test cases and test plans to demonstrate complete compatibility between Isilon IQ scale-out NAS, its Back-up Accelerator, and CommVault Simpana data management software. This certification ensures enterprise customers can seamlessly deploy, manage, and protect business-critical information within their storage environments. When used with Isilon IQ, CommVault Simpana software automates the integration and back-up of file-based data between the online environment and the archived storage library, speeding critical data access to increase workflow productivity across the organization. Additionally, CommVault Simpana’s end-to-end approach to deduplication speeds network data transfers, shortens back-up windows, and enables greater storage utilization, reducing the amount of archive copies by up to 90 percent.
