NRA Offers Safe Deposit Box From MyMedicalRecords

Enabling its members to secure access to their documents in the event of emergency or disaster

MMR Information Systems, Inc., which through its wholly-owned operating subsidiary, MyMedicalRecords, Inc. provides consumer-controlled Personal Health Records and electronic safe deposit box storage solutions, has entered into an affinity marketing program with the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The NRA will offer MMR’s MyEsafeDepositBox platform to its members to ensure that its members have secure access to their important documents in the event of an emergency or disaster. The service, called NRAe-Safe, is being offered as a complimentary benefit to new and renewing members of the NRA for one year starting in the second quarter of 2009.

"The relationship with the NRA continues to validate our strategy of marketing our easy-to-use, consumer-centric products on a private label basis through membership organizations, including trade and professional associations, hospitals, unions, insurance companies, financial institutions and other member benefit organizations," said Robert H. Lorsch, Chairman and CEO of MMR Information Systems, Inc. "The NRAe-Safe service is powered by MMR’s patent-pending technologies to create a user-friendly system for members to manage all their important papers in one secure online location that they can access 24/7, using any Internet-connected device. The series of disasters across America over the past decade where hundreds of thousands of people had to evacuate their homes due to hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and wildfires illustrates the need for NRAe-Safe, where documents such as insurance policies, deeds of trust, legal permits, birth and marriage certificates, photos of family, property and pets, and, also importantly, personal health records, are always in safekeeping."

"Being able to store copies of all of one’s financial, legal and medical documents in one secure place and retrieve these at any time gives members greater control over their lives so that in the event of loss or theft, or a natural disaster, maintaining an NRAe-Safe account can help reconstruct a family’s life and facilitate the insurance claims process and reduce recovery time."

NRAe-Safe will enable members to have paper records faxed directly into their secure password-protected account through a unique, personal ‘Lifeline’ telephone number where they can be digitally stored, shared and displayed online. Scanned files and images can also be easily uploaded into the account from an Internet-connected computer. The service provides members the capability to organize the records into customizable folders, and information deemed extremely sensitive can be secured by secondary passwords. In addition, the system accommodates the storage of audio files which are also password-protected. All information in the member’s account is completely controlled by the member without any third party intervention to ensure privacy and confidentiality.

In addition, the service features a proprietary Emergency Login that gives medical personnel and first responders immediate online access to personal health records to display critical medical information that the member pre-selects in the event of an emergency or crisis situation. It also offers a suite of health management tools for up to 10 family members, such as automatic prescription reminders, appointment scheduling and an interactive drug reference tool that checks for interactions between over 24,000 prescription and over-the-counter medications, potentially preventing one of the leading causes of medical errors and deaths in the U.S.
