Intransa and JDS Partner
For new video appliances
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 9, 2009 at 3:20 pmIntransa, Inc. announced that its ground-breaking video surveillance appliances are now available pre-loaded with JDS Digital Security Systems LLC Softsite32 video surveillance software.
JDS Digital Security Systems has been developing surveillance software solutions since 1999. Headquartered in New Baltimore, Michigan, the company’s Softsite32 Enterprise flagship solution and other surveillance products are based on its unique, patented technology in IP intelligent video, network device licensing, auto discovery, auto configuration and video analytics.
“Intransa got it right when they chose to deliver a really simple solution for video surveillance needs,” said Joe Marchese, president of JDS. “By eliminating commodity server and storage hardware, a security department or integrator with limited resources can gain all the advantages of Softsite32 without having to deal with the challenges of integration and providing ongoing support for commodity hardware and storage. The result is a well-performing, very quick-to-install IP solution, without any complexity and without the integration risk.”
The JDS Softsite32 VMS solution has been previously tested and certified by the Intransa StorAlliance Technology Partner Labs for integration with the company’s video data management and retention (VDMR) platforms. VDMR platforms provide scalable video capacity from 2 to 1,500 terabytes (TB) for non-stop, RAID protected video recording and playback that supports weeks to years of retention. More than 150 applications and products, including Softsite32, IP cameras, megapixel cameras, DVRs, NVRs, video management systems, physical security information management systems, life safety, access control, authentication, and biometrics are already certified for risk free integration with Intransa VDMR platforms. JDS is the first to certify its applications with the new Intransa VideoAppliance family.
“JDS is a proven leader in a number of physical security markets, including challenging areas such as aerospace surveillance and government,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa. “Providing Softsite32 as a pre-loaded option on each Intransa VideoAppliance is a major benefit for those deploying equipment in a variety of surveillance markets, and we think our mutual customers are going to benefit greatly.”
Intransa VideoAppliance systems eliminate many of the issues associated with commodity hardware, bringing simplicity and reduced cost to video surveillance. Each Intransa VideoAppliance is fully optimized for video, removing the risk of improperly sizing and configuring commodity hardware, while ensuring maximum performance for large numbers of IP cameras and meeting the retention and playback demands of 24x7x365 surveillance.
Intransa VideoAppliance systems will be on display at the National Retail Federation Loss Prevention Conference and Expo, at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 15-17.
