By Jean Jacques Maleval | May 26, 2009 at 4:07 pmBased in San Francisco, CA, Clustrix, Inc., apparently formerly Sprout-Clustrix, Inc., was founded in 2006 by Paul Mikesell, its current CEO and VP engineering, who was previously founder and director of engineering at Isilon Systems.
The company is in stealth mode and currently recruiting engineers. What for? On its web site, you can only read:” We are building the next generation of highly scalable distributed infrastructure products. Our products make it possible to scale infrastructure just by adding nodes – without custom software engineering or special administrative activities.”
The idea seems to be to build a scalable database appliance just by adding nodes, without custom software engineering or special administrative activities
Among the executives there is another former executive of Isilon where he was chief architect, Aaron Passey, CTO, who joined Clustrix in November of 2008.
The start-up is financed by VCs Sequoia Capital, US Venture Partners and ATA Ventures for an undisclosed amount.
