UK Matrix Group Implemlents Double-Take

Double-Take Software, Inc. announced that Matrix Group, a financial services and investment company based in London, has implemented Double-Take to protect its email services against the risk of downtime. Using Double-Take, Matrix Group can achieve full recovery of its email systems, so that the company’s clients continue to receive the levels of service they expect.

Like many businesses, Matrix Group relies on email as a method for communicating with its clients, based on Microsoft Exchange. Employees at the company also use BlackBerry devices to keep in touch with clients while they are mobile, with messages being delivered using Blackberry Enterprise Server. In order to protect its whole email infrastructure, Laurence Duff, Matrix Group’s IT Manager, chose Double-Take.

“Being able to send and receive emails, whether you are at your desk or out of the office, is crucial to our employees – meeting the needs of clients and responding to a fast-changing market means that we have to be connected at all times,” said Laurence. “With Double-Take, we are able to achieve a service level where our entire email system is protected and can be back up and running within 30 minutes in the event of any failure, from an individual server crash through to a full site loss. In practice, we expect service to be resumed even faster.”

Matrix Group worked with oncore IT to implement the Double-Take solution, including support for fail-over to a remote site. Matrix is also using Double-Take to protect its SQL Server, Microsoft CRM and SharePoint services.
