Compellent Signed 12 Channel Partners in the UK & Ireland

And appointed Chrissie Tarbitt, previously at EqualLogic, as a channel development manager for Europe

Compellent Technologies, Inc. announced that it is growing its 100 percent channel-only sales model across Europe to meet continued demand for Storage Center, the company’s enterprise network storage solution.

To date, Compellent has recruited 12 channel partners in the UK & Ireland.

They are:

  • CAE Technologies Services;
  • Civica Services;
  • Eclipse Group Solutions;
  • Fordway Solutions;
  • Hollinbay Consultancy Services;
  • Jcom UK Ltd;
  • Origina;
  • Solid State Solutions;
  • Tectrade Computers (UK);
  • Teksys; and
  • VirtualizeIT.

Compellent has now recruited channel partners selling Storage Center in 12 countries across Europe.

Compellent has also announced the appointment of Chrissie Tarbitt as a channel development manager for Europe. Reporting to Andy Hardy, managing director of international sales, Tarbitt is responsible for helping Compellent continue to identify, recruit and retain the most effective and productive channel partners across all European territories, including the UK and Ireland. She was previously EMEA channel manager for Dell/Equallogic.

Bruce Kornfeld, vice president of marketing at Compellent, explains the company’s channel strategy: “Unlike other SAN vendors who use resellers for distribution but ultimately compete with them via direct sales, Compellent has no direct sales force and focuses all of its resources on helping partners sell and close deals. With our unique all-channel ‘assisted sales’ model, and the industry’s most innovative storage solution, Compellent gives our business partners – both in the UK and Ireland and throughout the rest of Europe – a major advantage over the competition when it comes to selling to, and servicing, their clients.”

Compellent’s UK and Ireland channel partners all bring strong previous storage experience. They have deployed Compellent’s storage solution at a number of high profile customer sites including Comic Relief, London Borough of Hillingdon, Royal Horticultural Society, Bracknell & Wokingham College, gm2 Logistics, and the Cleveland Police.

Andy Hardy, Compellent’s managing director of international sales comments: “Compellent continues to seek new business partners who demonstrate high levels of innovation, customer service and technical expertise for mid-sized and large enterprises. Once recruited, we anticipate a long and successful relationship with each one.”

Roger Bearpark, assistant head of ICT for the London Borough of Hillingdon, said: “We were looking for a new storage solution that could automatically manage data and drive down the cost per TB of stored data over the life of the SAN. It had to provide us with affordable system resilience and also contribute to a greener IT infrastructure. We looked at all the main players. Compellent topped the list in each category: ease of management, total cost of ownership, excellent environmental credentials and disaster recovery capabilities.”

The continued success of Compellent’s channel strategy is reflected in the fact that the company is currently hosting a record number of channel partners at its annual conference, C-Drive, in Minneapolis. During this event more than 180 Compellent resellers will preview the company’s eagerly awaited next-generation SSD and disaster recovery technologies.
