Emulex Provides FC HBAs for HP EVA 6400 and 8400

Emulex Corporation announced that its LightPulse Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) support the new HP StorageWorks 6400 and 8400 Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVAs), running Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, HP-UX 11i and Linux operating systems.

Emulex LightPulse HBAs
offer customers a range of capabilities, including:

• Comprehensive virtualization capabilities with support for N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) and virtual fabric – allows application of SAN best practices, tools and processes with virtual server deployments
• Host to Fabric FC-SP authentication – ensures end-to-end data integrity and protects sensitive data from unauthorized access
• Support for Message Signaled Interrupts eXtended (MSI-X) – improves host utilization & enhances application performance
• Common driver model allows a single driver to support all Emulex HBAs on a given OS  – lowers administrative costs and speeds server deployment
• Support for 8Gb/s, 4Gb/s & 2Gb/s Fibre Channel devices – integrates seamlessly into existing SANs
