By the end of 2009
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 28, 2009 at 3:50 pmAMAX, a server and storage company in the system builder channel in North America, announced that AMAX’s ServMax Virtualization Servers will support VMware vSphere by the end of 2009.
VMware vSphere is the industry’s first cloud operating system, transforming datacenters into dramatically simplified cloud infrastructures to enable the next generation of flexible, reliable IT services. VMware vSphere gives customers uncompromising control, with greater efficiency, while preserving customer choice.
By supporting VMware vSphere, AMAX can further extend the value of AMAX’s ServMax Virtualization Servers into customers’ next-generation datacenters and help enable customers to manage large collections of infrastructure — including CPUs, storage and networking — as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment.
AMAX’s ServMax Virtualization Servers are already VMware Ready Certified, meaning ServMax series have completed the VMware Hardware Certification Program testing criteria for use with VMware vSphere and are now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide. The VMware Hardware Certification Program enables VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program members to provide mutual customers with jointly supported hardware solutions. Passing the extensive certification testing helps ensure that ServMax series is compatible with VMware technology and ready for deployment in customer environments.
“We are pleased that AMAX is taking the next step to helping provide customers with a more flexible, reliable and scalable computing environment,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “By supporting VMware vSphere, our partners can further enable increased efficiency, control and choice for customers.”
“IT organizations are seeking a simple, energy-efficient, and more flexible IT environment while maximizing their resource utilization and reducing their total cost of ownership," said Jean Shih, President of AMAX. “Our ServMax Virtualization Servers enable data centers to reduce operating expenses by consolidating their IT infrastructure and server environment. They also deliver optimized memory and storage capacity, improved manageability, improved disaster recovery, enhanced overall virtual infrastructure, and exceptional value to our customers.”
