Bull Announces Availability of EMC Symmetrix V-Max
Within its StoreWay storage solutions
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 15, 2009 at 4:54 pmBull announces the availability for shipment of EMC‘s new high-end Symmetrix V-Max storage systems within Bull StoreWay Storage Solutions.
Central to the Bull storage product portfolio, the Symmetrix V-Max will enable Bull to upscale its virtualised server-storage solutions into the mission-critical data center environment while meeting ever more demanding SLA requirements and customer pressure for optimised storage infrastructures that reduce investment and management costs.
With one of the first Symmetrix V-Max storage arrays already available in its EMC Solution Center based in Grenoble France, Bull is running a series of Symmetrix V-Max briefings, demonstrations and technical workshops for customers throughout Europe.
"We have worked closely with the EMC product teams at their Hopkinton headquarters to prepare this announcement and the immediate availability of the Symmetrix V-Max systems to our customers in our EMEA markets," stated Benoit Hallez, Director of Bull’s StoreWay Business Unit. "Symmetrix has been the reference in high-end storage for over a decade and this announcement will allow our customers to benefit from the flexibility and cost optimisation of innovative features such as automated provisioning and data tiering, combined with the rock-solid reliability and performance that our Symmetrix customers demand. This combination is unique in the market today."
The Symmetrix V-Max storage systems are based on the new Virtual Matrix Architecture technology which interconnects multiple V-Max engines. Each V-Max engine contains its own redundant CPU, memory and host/disk connectivity. This architecture enables massive scalability and extreme levels of fault tolerance and reliability.
"The announcement of the new EMC Virtual Matrix Architecture is the most radical development in high-end storage in nearly two decades," states David Donatelli, President, EMC Storage Division. "EMC and Bull have a 16-year history of collaboration and have worked together since then to help customers through every major data center revolution. With extensive experience in deploying Symmetrix systems throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia markets, Bull and EMC are again working to help customers with another major transformation — from a physical infrastructure to a virtual one."
Bull has been a worldwide Symmetrix OEM partner since 1993, and through its StoreWay storage integration organisation has in-depth experience of all major EMC product families including CLARiiON, Celerra and Centera.
