IBM revised availability for Small Form Factor DASD featuring on IBM Power 550.
The features for support of Small Form Factor DASD (#1881, #1882, #8346, #1856, and #1878) on the Power 550 (8204-E8A), originally planned to be available April 24, 2009, as announced in Hardware Announcement 108-743, dated October 07, 2008, are now planned to be available May 22, 2009.
It concerns:
- 73.4 GB SAS 2.5-inch 10,000 RPM (#1881) (AIX, Linux, VIOS)
- 146.8 GB SAS 2.5-inch 10,000 RPM (#1882) (AIX, Linux, VIOS)
Comments
Fujitsu, Hitachi GST and Seagate are the only manufacturers of 10,000rpm SAS HDDs, all of them with units offering about the same two capacities.
