Compellent Completes Microsoft Simple SAN Partner Certification

To reduce complexity of storage management

Compellent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE Arca: CML) today announced it completed the Microsoft’s Simple SAN (storage area network) programme in a joint effort to reduce storage management complexity for end-users in a Windows enterprise environment.

Microsoft’s Simple SAN programme was created specifically to address storage management challenges for growing mid-sized enterprises. Compellent reduces the complexities traditionally associated with data center administration by integrating seamlessly with Windows Operating Systems, supporting key attributes required to deploy and run a SAN and providing access to both Fibre Channel and iSCSI connectivity via the Microsoft Initiator.

The Compellent Storage Center SAN reduces complexity and improves efficiency of the data center environment. The goal of Microsoft’s Simple SAN technology initiative is to simplify the process of utilising SANs, HBAs and SAN switches in Microsoft Windows environments.

Long recognised as a leader in easy-to-use storage, Compellent’s latest validation as a designated partner in the Microsoft Simple SAN program is yet another step the company is taking to ensure interoperability and support for Compellent and Microsoft enterprise customers.

The Compellent SAN offers unparalleled ease-of-use for IT administrators working in Windows-based enterprise environments,” explained Steve Anderson, director of alliance marketing, Compellent. “This latest validation further demonstrates our commitment to providing Windows users an intuitive solution to simplify data management with the highest possible availability, and we do this with the most efficient SAN available.

By joining the Microsoft Simple SAN program and successfully completing the testing requirements, Compellent can enable customers to easily deploy validated storage solutions, contributing to the overall goal of a simplified customer experience,” said Bala Kasiviswanathan, Director, Storage Solutions Marketing at Microsoft.
