Fujifilm to Show Its Tape Library Monitoring Service

At Data Center World 2009

FUJIFILM Recording Media U.S.A., Inc. will present its recently launched Data Center Services at Data Center World 2009 in Las Vegas, NV, specifically highlighting the Tape Environment Analysis portion of the services. Offering a detailed assessment of a data center’s current backup environment, Tape Environment Analysis delivers a comprehensive report that pinpoints recommendations designed to maximize existing backup resources, avoid unnecessary expenditures on equipment and ensure that compliance requirements are met.

"Tape storage remains a trustworthy and viable resource for data storage and Fujifilm tape analysis services will allow data centers to do more with less," said Rich Gadomski, vice president of Marketing, Fujifilm. "Ultimately, we want to provide our customers with cost-effective, practical services that can help data center managers take action in order to prevent data recovery failures, save time, and improve overall data center performance."

This year at the Data Center World conference, Rich Gadomski and Dan Greenberg, new product manager, will deliver a product information session titled, Maximizing Data Tape Performance and Mitigating Risk of Data Loss. During the session, attendees will learn how innovations in tape storage allow data center managers to maximize tape system performance and how to protect against data loss during recovery and while tapes are in transit. Fujifilm’s Tape Environment Analysis service and Tape Tracker GPS wireless tape tracking technology will be used to demonstrate implementation techniques that can result in significant cost savings, boost back-up performance, and help safeguard data.

Besides the Tape Environment Analysis, Fujifilm Recording Media’s Site Analysis Professional Services also include Archive Verification Services, which verify system capability to read archived tape media over time, and On-site Tape Verification Service and Analysis, which provides an audit report of media to verify each tape is readable and recoverable.

In addition to demonstrating the Site Analysis Professional Services and Tape Tracker technology at Data Center World, the company will also display its full suite of tape data storage products, including LTO Ultrium tape cartridges, accessories such as Data Cartridge Analyser and additional services including bar coding, custom logo printing, and data recovery.

The Data Center Services are now available through Fujifilm’s distribution partners.
