Isilon NAS Deployed by JibJab

Isilon Systems announced that JibJab Media, an online digital entertainment studio, is using Isilon’s scale-out NAS solutions to power its leading-edge content creation, production and distribution operations. Using Isilon IQ, with its unique on-demand scalability and industry-leading utilization rates, JibJab has been able to scale its storage to cost-effectively manage rapid and unprecedented growth in user-generated content and consumer demand. Additionally, the inherent simplicity of Isilon IQ and its OneFS operating system software has allowed JibJab to manage more than 200 terabytes with less than one third of one IT administrator’s time.

By deploying Isilon’s scale-out NAS solutions, which feature industry-leading utilization rates of more than 80 percent, JibJab has been able to grow its storage capacity on an on-demand basis, deploying only the necessary amount of storage to remain in alignment with its data growth and gaining newfound business agility to respond rapidly to consumer demand.

JibJab originally selected Isilon for the digital asset management of its internally created artwork, animations, audio and visual effects. By using Isilon IQ, which creates a single, high-performance, highly scalable shared pool of storage, JibJab unified its Flash, Final Cut Pro and proprietary editing and animation applications onto a single, universally accessible resource, streamlining its content creation operations and accelerating productivity. Following this success, JibJab deployed a second Isilon system as a central repository for storing, managing and distributing all user-generated assets, including more than 60 million digital images. With Isilon IQ providing both a digital asset management solution for its content creation workflow and an active archive for massive amounts of user-generated data, JibJab has unified its production workflow to accelerate time-to-market, while cost-effectively managing the elastic demands and massive growth spikes of its business.
