NewBay’s Message Minder Processes 16 Million Messages in Single Day

For O2's Bluebook service subscribers

NewBay Software, the leader in digital lifestyle solutions for operators, today announced that its award-winning message management solution, LifeCache Message Minder, successfully backed up and stored over 16 million mobile messages on New Year’s Eve, for subscribers of O2‘s Bluebook service. LifeCache currently stores billions of media for live operator services worldwide. O2’s Bluebook service was launched in association with NewBay in 2006 to enable subscribers’ SMS and MMS messages to be automatically stored online, via a network initiated back up. Subscribers can also use the service to save camera phone pictures in online albums, and share them with their family and friends. Bluebook is live and free for O2 subscribers.

The loss of mobile handsets which store unique and personal media is a significant problem for many users. To address this concern, LifeCache Message Minder automatically backs up precious text, picture and video messages sent and received across an operator network. Message Minder recognizes the phone number associated with each subscriber account and securely stores messages in an operator branded cloud. The integration with a portal address book ensures that all correspondence is assigned the same naming convention that the user associates with that phone number.
