Spicek previously held the role of Senior Director, Partner Sales and Marketing, EMEA/LATAM, where she led a team of over 70 driving initiatives with Brocade’s OEMs and channel partners. In her new role, Spicek will be responsible for developing channel strategies and working with Brocade’s global sales network to define and accelerate channel recruitment and sales programs.

"We have the opportunity now to build a world-class channel program that will be instrumental in helping Brocade expand its presence in new geographies as well as new technology segments," said Spicek. "Our aim is to develop a global program that is selective, differentiated, profitable and fosters loyalty between us and our partners."

Spicek started her career at Brocade in 2001 as Channel Sales Manager EMEA and Latin America. She was responsible for the channel sales, development of the channel, sales programs, acquisition of new customers and product marketing. Immediately before working at Brocade, Spicek was at Iomega the OEM Sales Manager for Europe, a role she started in 1999.

She started her career in 1989 at Toshiba Europe in Neuss. At first, she worked in the Engineering and Customer Service division of Toshiba. After this, she spent four years as European Marketing Manager for optical media and hard drives. She then took up a position as OEM Sales & Pan-European Distribution Manager, which lasted for five years. During her entire carrier, Barbara Spicek has held various positions in the fields of marketing, channel and sales.

"Barbara’s appointment is an important and timely one in light of our entry into the IP/Ethernet networking market through the acquisition of Foundry," said Ian Whiting, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales at Brocade. "We believe that channel partners around the world, like end-users, are looking for more choices for end-to-end networking solutions and our goal is to fill that need as a credible and viable alternative."
