AppAssure Releases Replay AppImage 3.0 SaaS

AppAssure Software, provider of enterprise and purpose-built backup and disaster recovery software for Windows applications, introduced Replay AppImage 3.0, the next-generation of its application-protection software. Replay AppImage 3.0 offers continuous application imaging for Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and other Windows applications with killer recovery time and recovery point objectives.

The new Replay AppImage 3.0 has been purpose-built to protect Windows applications. Featuring centralized client-server architecture, Replay AppImage uses off-host processing to eliminate backup windows and enable the live restore of a down application. Offering live rollback and virtual recovery, Replay AppImage assures reliable application recoveries through its unique approach to Continuous Application Protection (CAP) technology and is easily extensible into a virtualized infrastructure to optimize resource usage. The new version also offers full support for Windows 2008.

Designed to greatly reduce the time it takes to perform application recoveries, Replay AppImage 3.0 offers:

• Application-Consistent Snapshots: Using application-consistent snapshot technology, Replay AppImage works quietly and efficiently in the background copying changed blocks, including operating system, system state and application data, to the Replay server so that mission-critical applications can be recovered quickly.
• De-Duplication and Compression: The Replay AppImage de-duplication and compression capabilities reduce storage requirements and optimize existing storage resources, enabling users to completely eliminate their backup window and reduce application server overhead.
• Replay Application Standby for ESX: The Replay Application Standby for ESX add-on leverages virtual machines to provide cost-effective high availability for Windows applications. Integrated with VMware VirtualCenter, this method is a risk-free approach for testing disaster recovery preparedness, patches and updates for your mission-critical applications. Virtual machines are automatically created and maintained directly on an ESX VMFS file system, eliminating the need to migrate virtual machines in a disaster scenario.
• Replay Recovery Anywhere: The Replay Recovery Anywhere add-on restores images to dissimilar hardware in minutes. It is integrated into Replay AppImage’s bare-metal capability as an easy-to-use and simple interface. Drivers for most of the popular systems are included and custom drivers can be slipstreamed in minutes.

Replay AppImage 3.0 is available now with pricing starting at $899 USD per server. Options for disaster recovery and high availability are available for an additional $299 per server. A special application pack for Exchange with options for single-message restore and on the fly corruption detection is available for $10/mailbox.
