And customer base up 55% in 2008
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 16, 2009 at 3:42 pmAPTARE, Inc., provider of Web 2.0-based storage reporting and management software, posted another record year in 2008, reflecting the continued demand for its comprehensive storage backup, capacity management and storage optimization solutions.
The company’s revenue grew 46 percent year over year, fueled by its new APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager product. This product extends the portfolio of products built on the common APTARE StorageConsole platform. StorageConsole Capacity Manager features a set of ROI reports that helps customers determine how much of their storage is actually being used, improving their ability to maximize their storage resources.
APTARE also experienced strong growth in Software as a Service (SaaS) versions of its offerings delivered through its network of managed services partners such as GlassHouse Technologies. This approach enables companies to streamline their storage environments without incurring large resource outlays and overhead costs.
The company’s customer base grew by 55 percent in 2008, with 95 percent of those being mid-size or Fortune 500 enterprises. APTARE’s core vertical markets include education, energy, finance, government and healthcare.
According to Bob Laliberte, analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group, "The ability of data center administrators to implement an effective storage management strategy will be key to reining in challenges inherent in complex, high-growth storage environments. APTARE’s StorageConsole platform provides end-to-end visibility and monitoring of these heterogeneous storage environments — quickly locating under-utilized storage, simplifying management, and even more significant in this economy, delivering a significant ROI in six months or less."
"Despite a strained worldwide economy, 2008 was another year of strong growth for APTARE," said Richard Clark, president and CEO of APTARE. "Storage administrators are facing the dual challenges of managing ever-growing amounts of data within a severely constrained budget environment. Our StorageConsole storage management platform allows our customers to optimize their current resources so they can continue to meet user needs without additional expenditures."
Other highlights from 2008 included:
- Additional Web 2.0 technology features in the APTARE StorageConsole platform to increase ease of use, such as tabbed browsing, right-click menus and drag-and-drop functionality.
- The Report Template Designer wizard, which can be used to create unique, customized reports for individual business area needs.
- Community forum debut, known as the APTARE StorageConsole Newsgroup, allowing users to share best practices, tools and storage management information.
Rounding out the year, APTARE was named a 2008 CODiE Award finalist for its StorageConsole platform. The company was also awarded a Network Products Guide Reader Trust Award for backup tools.
