BERTScope Analyzers Introduced by SyntheSys Research
For 16X FC and 12Gb SAS
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 13, 2009 at 3:35 pmSyntheSys Research, Inc. introduces the new BERTScope 17500A and BERTScope Si 17500C Signal Integrity Analyzers, the latest editions to the BERTScope Family. Covering data rates from 500 Mb/s to 17.5 Gb/s, both provide the most advanced and comprehensive combination of signal integrity analysis and test tools available in a single instrument. For designers and signal integrity engineers working with high speed semiconductor devices, these new instruments help improve development costs and time to market by speeding up troubleshooting and compliance testing.
The BERTScope 17500 family includes capabilities for transmitter and receiver testing, including pattern generation and bit error ratio test. In addition, the 17500C model includes extensive capabilities for performing jitter and interference tolerance testing as required by many standards. It also includes the new Jitter Map functionality. This is a first in the industry with its ability to perform detailed jitter analysis on long patterns as well as the more usual short patterns.
The BERTScope Si 17500C also features enhanced integrated stress generation beyond the standard stresses available in the BERTScope S, extended to 17.5 Gb/s:
- Sinusoidal Jitter (SJ) amplitudes at jitter frequencies below 160 kHz have been greatly increased.. Jitter tolerance SJ requirements met or exceeded include: SONET/SDH OC-192/STM-64, Fibre Channel, Xaui, 10 GBASE-R, and XFP.
- F/2 jitter, which varies the pulse widths of odd vs. even bits in the data pattern, is added for 10 GBASE-KR and general purpose usage up to 11.2 Gb/s.
- Spread Spectrum Clocking (SSC) on data rates from 500 Mb/s to 17.5Gb/s. SSC can be used simultaneously with SJ and other stresses
Availability
The BERTScope 17500A and 17500C are available 12 weeks ARO.
