“Customers are looking for data protection solutions that provide increased uptime performance, high reliability and support for all of their current operating systems,” said Duncan McPherson, chief executive officer, Unitrends. “The Recovery-300 desktop appliance provides a powerful, highly-integrated data backup and recovery solution for smaller office environments that desire space efficient storage with data-center performance.”
“Data protection is critical to our business operations,” said Joe Scott, systems administrator, Technology Solutions, Inc. “We cannot afford the risk of data loss, yet we also don’t have a full server room to house racks of storage. The Recovery-300 was the perfect solution for our office. It conveniently sits right on my desktop and offers all the performance and storage capacity our business will need for today and the future. Also, the easy-to-use Web interface means I can literally access and manage our storage from anywhere.”
The Recovery-300 introduces software-based data compression and data encryption capabilities to Unitrends’ small-form-factor solutions. Recovery-300 also features the Unitrends Rapid Recovery Console for a ‘single pane of glass’ to manage, monitor and configure data protection policies and actions.
The Unitrends’ Recovery-300 desktop appliance features a quad-core processor, four gigabytes (GBs) of memory and four 1.5 terabyte (TB) drives arranged in a RAID-10 configuration. It also supports up to ten client systems (typically servers), up to 1.125 TBs of data, and more than 40 operating systems and applications.

The Recovery-300 is available immediately from Unitrends’ U.S. and U.K. VARs and distributors, with pricing starting below $4,500 MSRP.
