Len Rosenthal VP Marketing for Virtual Instruments

Joining from Panasas, where he served as chief marketing officer

Founded in June 2008 via the spin-out from Finisar, Virtual Instruments, provider of the NetWisdom storage area network (SAN) optimization solution, today announced Len Rosenthal has joined the company as vice president of marketing. Rosenthal will be responsible for Virtual Instruments overall marketing strategy and implementation, including product marketing, corporate marketing and marketing communications.

Rosenthal brings more than 23 years of marketing strategy, product marketing and business development experience to his role at Virtual Instruments. He joins from Panasas, where he served as chief marketing officer. He was responsible for driving global marketing strategies to accelerate the adoption of Panasas’ clustered, parallel storage solutions in High Performance Computing (HPC) markets.

Before his role at Panasas, Rosenthal co-founded PathScale, which he helped build into one of the most successful InfiniBand technology suppliers. The company was acquired by QLogic, and Rosenthal became vice president of marketing at QLogic’s System Interconnect Group.

His experience also includes senior marketing and product line management roles at Silicon Graphics Computer Systems, Hewlett-Packard and Inktomi Corporation.

Rosenthal has an MBA from the Haas Business School at the University of California at Berkeley, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School.
