Customers Continue to Adopt PGP Platform and Solutions
PGP Corporation customers know that in order to survive customer loss and brand damage from malicious and negligent data breaches, organizations must protect their data as their most critical business asset. In 2008, the number of customers buying and deploying the PGP UniversalTM Server grew to over 5000, with approximately 50 percent using the PGP Encryption Platform to manage multiple encryption applications. This data shows that new and existing customers are repeatedly turning to PGP Corporation as the de-facto standard for data protection to safeguard their business and personal data, as well as comply with industry and regulatory compliance mandates.
“Since its inception, PGP Corporation has always been at the forefront of encryption and data protection. Our results for 2008 not only underscore our leadership in the industry, but also show that customers across the globe are turning to PGP Corporation as their strategic solutions provider for data protection,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. “Data is the core asset of every business, defending and securing that data is critical to the success of a business, which is why customers will continue to invest in protecting their data.“
2008 Product Innovation
In 2008, PGP Corporation continued to innovate its solutions as well as introduce new products which enable its customers to protect their most critical asset – data. New and enhanced solutions included:
- PGP UniversalTM Server 2.9 — as the foundation of the PGP Encryption Platform, new enhancements enable organizations to enforce or defer email encryption policies when users are offline, providing greater security when users are not on the network;
- PGP Whole Disk Encryption 9.9 — increased support for multiple operating systems and standards, including pre-boot authentication for both Mac and Windows, enabling enterprises to set centrally-defined security policies from a single management console for heterogeneous environments;
- PGP NetShare 9.9 — enables file sharing environments to set policy-based encryption by application (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, custom applications, etc.), regardless of where the data resides whether stored locally, on a flash drive or file server;
- PGP Endpoint — a centrally managed data loss prevention solution that provides integrated data encryption and devise policy enforcement for all removable storage devices (USB drives, CDs and DVDs) and mobile data connection technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi, FireWire, Bluetooth, etc.) to protect laptops, desktops, mobile devices and ports;
- PGP Command Line — new version now runs natively on the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system, providing customers with broader platform support when integrating encryption scripts into batch, networking and back-up processes; and
- PGP Mobile — the newest encryption application that allows enterprise users to easily protect data on smart phones. With PGP Mobile, data on Windows Mobile devices can be encrypted automatically and shared securely with other mobile and desktop users.
2008 Certifications and Awards
Providing proof of its technological advances and rigorous testing, PGP Corporation provides corporate and government customers with an even higher level of assurance of its high-grade encryption solutions. This year PGP Corporation added Common Criteria Certification for PGP Universal Gateway Email and CESG Assisted Products Assurance (CAPS) approval for PGP Whole Disk Encryption 9.9. Additionally PGP Corporation was hailed by SC Magazine as an ‘Innovator in Data Protection’ for listening and responding to customer needs. SC Magazine also recognized PGP products with two competitive wins; hands-on lab reviews for whole disk encryption and secure email messaging solutions with PGP Whole Disk Encryption and PGP Universal Gateway Email. Expansion of Enterprise Data Protection Channels
In 2008, PGP Corporation established a strategic relationship with IBM, as well as launched the PGP Managed Service Provider Network (MSPN), broadening access of its encryption solutions to the small and medium sized business market (SMB). Through the PGP MSPN SaaS-delivery model, SMBs now have access to the same commercial-grade, enterprise-class encryption security as large organizations without requiring the upfront infrastructure investments typically required for implementing encryption and data protection solutions.
