Hostworks Selects Sorrento Networks Optical Transport Solution

Hostworks, an application managed service provider in Australia, has chosen Sorrento Networks‘ GigaMux 3200 metro optical transport solution to address the storage area network (SAN) needs of one of its major customers in the public sector. As part of its continuing innovation to meet customer needs, this is first time Hostworks has linked a SAN at its own data centre with a SAN at a customer data centre.

To best serve its customer’s SAN architecture needs, Hostworks selected Sorrento’s GigaMux 3200 to connect the Hostworks data centre with the customer’s data centre on the other side of the city. The GigaMux 3200 uses dark fiber links to deliver multiple services of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (Gb) and 4 Gb fibre channel providing complete data centre to data centre connectivity for multi-site SAN replication.
