NetBenefit Partners With i365
On online backup and recovery
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 5, 2009 at 3:45 pmNetBenefit, one of the UK’s most experienced managed hosting companies, has partnered with i365, a Seagate Company and leading provider of secure, reliable online backup and recovery SaaS, to create a fast, efficient and secure managed backup service to complement its business critical managed hosting service.
The new service, based upon i365’s EVault Data Protection technology, speeds up backup operations by only backing up new or changed data files. This results in a significant reduction in the time taken to complete each backup and helps to reduce the amount of storage required. For increased levels of reliability, data checking is conducted at multiple points in the process at both block and file level to ensure the backed up data fully reflects the data available for restore at any given time.
i365 EVault SaaS backup and recovery immediately backs up data securely off-site and can be recovered at any time with just a click of the mouse, usually taking just a few minutes for a full restore. An easy to access browser based control panel provides the customer with the ability to instantly view backup schedules, read backup reports, perform on demand backups and run restores of files or directory sets.
Jonathan Robinson, COO, NetBenefit, comments: "Our partnership with i365’s EVault SaaS means that our customers can rely on NetBenefit to backup their data as part of our managed service but have the power to make ad hoc online backups and restore data whenever they want to. We are very impressed with the i365 EVault service and our customers are already telling us just how easy it is to use."
Robinson concludes: "According to Gartner, 71% of all tape based backups fail but many hosting providers are still providing tape based backup services. With NetBenefit’s continued investment in disk-to-disk managed backup services, our customers can be confident that their data is fully backed up, secure and available to recover in just minutes."
