Mellanox 40Gb IB Adapters in Tyan Servers

Eliminating the need for separate add-in I/O cards

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that its ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapters have been selected for Landed-on-Motherboard (LOM) applications across TYAN’s leading family of S7017 server products from TYAN, a server brand under Mitac Group, eliminating the need for separate add-in I/O cards. TYAN is a leading provider of performance- and power-optimized server boards, chassis, and rack and blade systems that target data center, high-performance computing, workstation, storage networks and standalone server environments.

ConnectX provides valuable data center infrastructure future-proofing benefitsas it supports both 40Gb/s InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. This will allow TYAN to flexibly address the demands for 40Gb/s InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet with Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) over the same hardware platform.

The TYAN S7017 motherboard is currently in customer sampling.
