Imation Purchases the Portfolio License of Fast Logic
Including techniques for the implementation of logic circuits that improve the speed, power consumption and noise immunity of digital CMOS-based ICs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 4, 2009 at 3:47 pmAlliacense announced that Imation Corp. has purchased a Fast Logic’ Portfolio license from The TPL Group.
‘We welcome Imation as one of our first Fast Logic licensees, and we look forward to Fast Logic technologies playing a key role in the innovative products they bring to market," stated Joe Minville, VP of Licensing for Alliacense. Noting the widespread use of the Fast Logic technology, he added: "Fast Logic licensing opportunities are being discussed with dozens of other companies worldwide."
The Fast Logic Portfolio protects innovative design techniques that have enabled many past and currently available consumer and commercial products to achieve significant performance advantages. The related patents are fundamental to dozens of microprocessor-based key features and benefits in contemporary electronic products ranging from mobile phones, personal computers and servers to automotive systems, scientific instruments and medical equipment.
About the Fast Logic Portfolio
The Fast Logic Portfolio contains intellectual property that was initially developed by Thunderbird Technologies of Morrisville, NC. The Fast Logic Portfolio includes many popular design techniques for the implementation of high-speed logic circuits that improve the speed, power consumption, and noise immunity of digital CMOS based integrated circuits. The Fast Logic Portfolio technologies are used widely in the memory and logic circuits on which modern microprocessor-based systems rely. After pursuing the technologies for over a decade, Thunderbird entered into a joint venture with TPL in 2007 to strengthen and extend their R&D efforts as well as to commercialize the proprietary Fast Logic Portfolio technologies.
