Texas Memory Partners With NetApp (2)

The RamSan-500 is the highest performance cached Flash Solid State Disk (SSD) system on the market. The V-Series is an open storage controller. The combination of the RamSan-500 and V-Series enables enterprises to greatly improve the return on investment (ROI) of their storage infrastructure, with sub-millisecond performance, simplified data management, and better utilization of their resources.

The RamSan-500 delivers 100,000 I/Os per second (IOPS) and two gigabytes per second of sustained random read or write bandwidth while consuming only 300 watts of power. This roughly equates to the performance of a comparable hard-disk based RAID system with hundreds of disks. Additionally, the RamSan uses significantly less power and a fraction of the rack space.
The V-Series storage controller and Data ONTAP software enables enterprises to consolidate and virtualize all of their data in order to protect their storage investment and reduce costs through simplified, effective data management. Administrators can easily partition networks and storage, including Tier-0 RamSan-500 SSD. The RamSan-500 can be utilized as a large, fast networked cache, or otherwise partitioned to maximize storage efficiency. The V-Series’ thin provisioning and end-to-end de-duplication capabilities can further reduce costs.
